The Planning

The planning of this excursion was a long and fun process. Most of us met once a month over a potluck dinner. Those who could not attend the meetings were encouraged to participate through phone calls and the use of our Google Doc.
We began this adventure by doing some research on what each of us would like to see and do while in Ireland. Some of the wonderful things we decided on were; to spend a night in a castle, visit the Jameson Distillery, see Trinity College, and walk on the Giant's Causeway. After a long list was compiled on a Google Doc, we contacted four tour companies to see what they could put together for us and in the end, we chose Exploring Ireland. It has been a pleasure to work with them with all of the questions that have arisen and changes that have occurred. The tour includes almost everything on our list plus some places we didn't even know about. Lunch and dinners were not included which we all agreed was perfect so that we could experience some of the local cuisine. Here are some pictures of places we were planning to visit. |
